Michael Brammer, son of Parnelli Lifetime Achievement Award winner Jim Brammer, stepped up to the podium on January 26 to present the plaque to his dad. After some private plane piloting and skydiving jokes, Michael quickly disabused the crowd of the notion that his dad is the kind of guy who ever takes on big risks with a backup plan. “He’ll have TEN backup plans,” Michael said, a truth reflected in the panoply of companies now under the Concert Stuff Group (CSG) umbrella, including Special Event Services (SES) and many others.
The 22nd annual Parnelli Awards took place on Jan. 26 during NAMM 2024 at the Anaheim Convention Center. The awards honored the career achievements of Buford Jones (Audio Innovator), Carol Dodds (Parnelli Visionary) and Jim Brammer (Parnelli Lifetime Achievement Award).
From a humble garage, the company that would become known as SES (Special Event Services) has grown into a multimillion-dollar enterprise with more than 500 employees and contractors serving a diversity of clients across nine companies today known as the Concert Stuff Group (CSG).
Country superstar, Luke Combs is out on the road playing to sold-out stadiums. In fact, his self-titled World Tourhas been selling so well that the schedule is expanding with additional dates at many stops. A tour this size requires detailed planning and reliable support that is a team effort, especially between the Production Manager and the vendors.
Luke Combs’ world tour kicked off March 25 and is still in full swing, packing stadiums coast to coast. But if you want an anecdote to how fast and far Luke Combs has come, Jerry Slone has a good one. “I met him in 2017 when I was production manager for Brantley Gilbert, and Luke was the first of two support acts, given just a half hour to play and 12 feet of stage space.”
